Jerry Louis Shockley born July 14,1957 in San Jose, California. Is a Singer, Songwriter, Musician, Actor, Inventor, Entrepreneur, Visionary. A truly talented and gifted person. Jerry has a PhD from the School of Hard Knocks, and amazingly He keeps getting up. A anointed psalmist, that takes you right to the throne room.
A loving father and husband and humanitarian. Fighting for the people in need of this world. His vision is to supply the needy of this world with much needed clean drinking water. He is currently working his “Shockwave Motor” a “Magnetic Turbine Power Supply” that will revolutionize the power needs of this world. Jerry is currently in the studio working on his newest project. I can say this, the new songs are the best he has ever written. If that is not enough, Jerry is writing his first book, which is soon to be released. This undiscovered talent, is long over due.
Jerry lives with his wife of eleven years Patty Ann, a retired American Airlines flight attendant. They live in Old Hickory Tennessee with their four dogs and two cats, they have 101 fish too.
Jerry started his love for music, playing the piano at the age of five. He started learning the guitar at the age of seven, with the guitar his grandfather bought for him. Wrote his first song at the age of twelve.
Jerry was inspired by Elvis, the Beatles, Pink Floyd, America, just to mention a few of his influences. Jerry graduated from Sherwood High School in 1975. He was voted “Most Talented Knight” of his class. He performed several lead roles in productions such as, N. Richard Nash "The Rainmaker", John Steinbeck "Of Mice and Men", Kesselring "Arsenic and Old Lace". He participated in football, track, basketball, baseball, wrestling. He went to state throwing the discus.
After high school Jerry went into the Army. Where he served as a truck driver for the 4th Infantry division at Ft Carson, Colorado. He completed his honorable service in Washington DC in the 3rd Infantry at Ft Myer, VA. The infamous “Presidential Honor Guard” for President Jimmy Carter.
Jerry has two daughters, Starr and Sara from his first marriage. Jerry went to Portland Community College where he studied acting, music, recording technology and marketing. Performed duel lead roles in Chaucer's "Canterbury Tales". His renowned dissertation "Music As Communication", received honors simultaneously in music, psychology and speech.
Jerry continued for the next 15 years playing music as a soloist and lead vocalist for the band “Shockwave”, in venues around Oregon and Washington. During that time he was also pursuing his passion for the outdoors as film maker and outdoor enthusiast. He Invented several products for the outdoor adventurer. Produced his first distributed video production "Oregon Gobbler".
After some personal life changes, his music started taking on a deeper meaning. He noticed something different about his songs. He didn't realize it at the time, but there was an anointing on his music. It was the spirit of God, moving through the music.
With this new lease on life and new songs in hand, Jerry made a big decision to move to Nashville, Tennessee in 1996. One Sunday night in a little church by Opryland, Jerry met Patty Ann. They started dating and soon were married.
After returning from a performance in London England at Andy's, Twelve Bar Blues Club in downtown London. Jerry was amazed at the response he received with his new songs. "Understanding" was a big hit.
Jerry went into the studio and released his first CD, "Dream Vision" in 2001. Recorded at his home studio, Shockwave Records. Most of the tracks were recorded first take. There was very little overdubbing on the album. In fact the song "Newsong" was recorded live first take. "Take My Hand" and" Greater Things" were recorded at Richard Kearney's studio, After Three PM Music, Hermitage, Tennessee.
I can say this, the best is yet to come from Jerry. The world needs to hear this talent. Get ready, you are about to be amazed.
